Arvanitia

Arvanitia is the beach of Nafplio and is located beneath Palamidi castle. Even though it is a small beach, within a length of 200 meters, it has been awarded the Blue Flag and is sheltered from the winds because of its location. The beach was named, according to the myth, after the great slaughter of Albanian mercenaries in 1779 by the Turkish commander.

KARATHONA

Karathona is one of the longest beaches in Argolida, located about 5 km from Nafplio. Hidden behind the rock of Palamidi, Karathona is the favorite beach of the locals. It has golden sand and offers almost an exotic scenery with palm trees and pines found along the coast. Pontikonisi island at the west side of the beach adds particular features to the whole scenery. Hydra is the most impressive island in the Argo Saronic Gulf. It takes six hours to reach there by boat from Nafplio.
